CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Students will take four classes a day, five days a week. Additional classes include video talks, lectures, nutrition, and music appreciation. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: (open to campers 15-16 years of age) Are you looking for a way to have a positive impact in your community? Are you thinking of a future career working with children? The Counselor in Training (CIT) program could be just the thing for you! Many of our counselors started out as CITs themselves.

This two-week program allows CITs to gain practical experience working with campers by assisting counselors during classes, afternoon recreational activities, evening programs, and in cabins. Not only will CITs get hands-on leadership experience, they will also attend workshops from Directors and other leaders at camp on a variety of topics such as behavior and risk management, interviewing tips and managing stress – to name a few.

CITs successfully completing the program will be considered for hire in 2016. CIT campers must attend two consecutive weeks. Housing and supervision is not available over the weekend, requiring CITs to return home.

CAMP FACILITIES: The University of Rochester provides an outstanding environment for soccer. Campers will have access to Fauver Stadium (an outdoor FieldTurf stadium), indoor fieldhouse and grass fields.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: RESIDENTIAL CAMPS:
The Residential Camp is designed for high school age players. The camp combines individual skills with advanced team tactics to enhance the development of each player. Campers will be exposed to challenging training sessions to improve decision-making and speed of play. Competitive evening matches will also enhance development and provide players the opportunity to showcase their ability and potential to perform at the collegiate level. At the end of the camp each player will receive a written evaluation to guide them with their training and development after camp. The UR Residential Camp combines outstanding facilities, exceptional coaches and high-level competition to be the premier soccer camp in upstate New York.

The Rochester Soccer Camp believes that the “game” is the best teacher and that philosophy is evident at our camp. Daily activities include individual ball skills, small-sided games, group tactics and learning through playing. Emphasis will be placed on individual player development, gaining a better understanding of the game and most importantly having fun! Players will be placed on teams according to age, gender and ability to ensure that campers are comfortable within their group. CAMP FACILITIES: Bristol Hills Music Campers live in cabins, rehearse in the dining hall, practice outside (weather permitting) while enjoying nature, have recreation time playing ultimate frisbee, soccer, football, basketball, or swimming. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This is the 60th Anniversary of Bristol Hills Music Camp. We accept band, orchestra and vocal musicians in grades 7-12 who have a passion for music and want to share it with others like them. We offer a Junior and Senior High Concert Band and Jazz Ensembles, a Junior String Ensemble and full Symphony Orchestra, a Vocal Ensemble, a Junior and Senior High All Camp Chorus, daily music electives, numerous small group ensembles, private lessons, including guitar. We offer recitals each evening with performances from staff, counselors, campers and ensembles. We culminate our week with a concert performance of all major ensembles for parents and friends.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Bristol Hills Music Camp offers a wonderful CIT program to those entering 12th grade and have attended our camp for at least 1 year. CITs are campers given opportunities to mentor with veteran counselors with the chance to demonstrate and hone their leadership skills.

CAMP FACILITIES: Keuka College, located on the shores of Keuka Lake, boasts air-conditioned dorms, all-inclusive dining, the beautiful Norton Chapel for performances, rehearsal spaces, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a library, all overlooking the water. Swimming and boating is supervised by life guards, all campers are supervised by trained counseling staff in small ratios.

Students are placed into small ensembles based on experience and are coached in technique, and practice habits, all led by distinguished faculty from the Eastman School of Music, the Eastman Community Music School, and members of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers attending Shankitunk for a week of summer fun will be assigned to one of our 15 rustic wooden cabins along the meadows edge. We have an outdoor swimming pool, low ropes course, basketball court, volleyball court, dining hall, craft hall, recreation pavilion, soccer field, archery range, Science Center, bathhouse with hot water and showers, maintenance shop, hiking trails, and river access for nature exploration.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: 4-H Camp Shankitunk is the oldest continuously operating 4-H camp in New York State. We first opened in 1927 as a vacation getaway for farm children in Delaware County, and have been providing a memorable experience for campers from all over the state and even other states ever since.

Our program has many rich traditions that have inspired grown campers to send their children back and even their grandchildren. Our chicken BBQ dinner, visit from the Delaware County Dairy Princess, closing candle ceremony, songs, class options, friendships, and flag salute are just a few. We hire a staff of approximately 40 each year, many of whom have been with us since they were old enough to attend Shankitunk themselves, but we love to welcome new faces into our camp family too. Little Notch connects girls of diverse backgrounds with each other, positive mentors, and the land. All of our activities are opportunities for campers to practice living in harmony with nature, each other, and themselves. Guided by their counselors, campers choose from a wide variety of group-planned activities, which allow for skill development and personal challenge in a safe and fun environment. Unless noted, all campers are eligible to participate in these activities, though not all activities are offered every day. Camp activities include swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing*, hiking, cookouts, land stewardship, campfires, creek-walking, tie-dyeing, drawing, beading, singing, ropes course, journaling, meditation, overnight camp-outs...and more.

We strive to bring together a diverse staff. They are selected for their strong leadership, problem solving skills, love of working with children, ability to model our mission, and a passion for the outdoors. All applicants are thoroughly screened and participate in comprehensive pre-camp training and orientation. The ratio of counselors to campers is one counselor to every six campers ages 7 and 8, and one counselor to every eight campers age 9 and above. All Camp Little Notch staff are certified in first aid. Waterfront and boating staff are certified lifeguards and ropes course staff are certified in belay. A registered nurse, or other licensed medical professional, oversees the health and safety of campers and staff on site.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Campers start their morning at 7:30 am giving them time to dress and any personal care before going to the dining hall to enjoy breakfast. At all meals, the campers, staff and volunteers work together to set the table, serve the food family style, and end the meal by cleaning and putting away the dishes. After breakfast, "kapers" are next. Kapers are community responsibilities throughout the camp. The campers then enjoy many fun-filled, camper-planned activities. The campers enjoy staying busy throughout the morning with programs such as hiking, boating, swimming, games, and arts & crafts. Lunch is at 12:30 pm, followed by a busy afternoon of more activities and "me-time" (personal time) before dinner at 6:00 pm. CAMP FACILITIES: Silver Lake is a picturesque camp, situated on over 300 acres of rolling green hills with a 96-acre private lake. Since opening in 2004, we have been busy improving and upgrading all of our facilities. During that time we have built all new bunks and renovated our basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. We have also expanded our facilities over the past few summers by adding a new soccer field, "Monster" baseball field, skate park, Pool, and brand new state of the art Gymnastics Facility.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Michael and Shari Baer, owners of Camp Chipinaw, established Silver Lake in 2004 as a session camp that allowed campers to attend for 3, 4, or 7 weeks. Silver Lake incorporates all of the traditions, activities, and spirit of Chipinaw… but does it twice each summer! Simply put, we want to provide campers with the opportunity to go to camp for a shorter amount of time and still get the "full camp" experience.

With state of the art facilities and over 50 activities to choose from, Silver Lake offers a warm family feel. Sports, Arts, Adventure, Digital Media, and Water Sports are just some of the many programs campers can choose from. Fly on our flying trapeze, flip into the foam pit in our newly built gymnastics center, horseback ride through one of our many trails, or waterski on our 96 acre lake, Silver Lake has something for everyone!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 1980 by Philadelphia Orchestra cellist Bert Phillips and Steinway pianist Toby Blumenthal, Luzerne Music Center aims to provide world-class music instruction for passionate young people in a summer camp environment regardless of their financial circumstance. Musicians ages 9 to 18 come from all over the world to train at LMC's campus located in the foothills of New York’s Adirondack Park.

Since inception, LMC has maintained strong relations with musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra and New York City Ballet. Both Junior and Senior session campers regularly visit the Saratoga Performing Arts Center to enjoy world-class performances by these ensembles, among others. Each August, LMC invites several Philadelphia Orchestra musicians to campus for a one-week residency, which includes a side-by-side orchestral reading, masterclasses, and sectionals.

At LMC, campers study music theory and rhythm, train in small and large ensembles, receive daily chamber music coaching, and weekly private lessons. Our campers perform on- and off-campus throughout the summer, and train in a nurturing environment balanced by hard work and enriching group activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Troop Camping
Troop leaders may take their girls camping for a weekend to Camp Kaufmann from September- May. Troop camping is a weekend event up to 72 hours in duration, planned and carried out by a troop at camp. The troop leaders reserve the housing and plan for meals and activities.

For any camping trip, the troop must have on certified first-aid and cpr certified adult for each group up to 44 campers. Each house or unit must have its own first aid/cpr certified adult. If you plan to use a fireplace, fire ring or seasonal unit, you need a camp certified adult (see training section). If you are staying in a lake house and do not plan on using a fire place or pit, then you will only need an adult who has taken the Overnight Adventures and Beyond training. Transportation is not provided for these weekends.

Outdoor Classrooms for Troop Camping
Troops can choose to enhance their experience by hiring one of our experienced counselors to run a specific activity for them. You will notice that there are different classrooms based on the season and they include different prices and lengths. New this year, we are introducing program patches for each of these classrooms. If this is your first time participating in these programs you will want to purchase a base patch for each of your girls. They are available at our camp trading post for $8.50 each. They will receive a free patch at the end of each of their outdoor classrooms, which can velcro onto the base patch!

“Do-It-Yourself” Programs in a Box for Troop Camping
Troops can choose to enhance their experience by renting a program in a box for the weekend. Each season features different boxes. These boxes include all of the programs you will need for the weekend including earned badges for the group.

Special Events
These events are open to all ages. We provide the troop with all of the activities, food and supplies for the weekend. The food and menu will be provided for each troop. The troop will prepare their meal and will be responsible for cleaning up after themselves. We always include a SWAP making station and actual swapping time, so girls can get to know girls from other troops during these weekends. Transportation is not provided for these events.

Girl-Only Weekends
This is an independent experience for older girls. Girls come without their leaders or moms and meet girls from other troops. The girls are provided everything including: programming, transportation, food, experienced counselors and more. Girls work towards specific badges and Journeys.

Day Trips
Girls can enjoy these trips with their moms or with their whole troop (sometimes even their families). These programs are great way for girls to enjoy camp for the first time! All of the programming, supplies and food are provided. Transportation is not.

Summer Weekends
Spend summer weekends swimming, fishing, boating, and having a great time. Come prepared to meet new people and have amazing experiences.

Mini Sleep-Away
If you’re between the ages of 9 and 17, come away with us to sleep-away camp where we’ll help you learn to climb a tree and build your confidence. Sleep-Away Adventure Camp offers girls the chance to experience a world of adventure and discovery. Girls will spend their days learning leadership skills, making friends, and sharing the excitement of going away with other girls.

Encampments
Camping events organized and operated by Troop Camp-certified adult volunteers from a geographic subdivision of the council (i.e. a borough or service unit) in which several troops participate. The program is planned and implemented by volunteers; some of the planning and scheduling may be done by the individual troops.

Campers make their beds, care for their own belongings and practice good personal hygiene. Our professional housekeeping staff maintains and sanitizes the bathrooms daily. A complete packing list and Parents' Manual make the process of preparing for camp as easy and convenient as possible.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Timber Lake West's unique four-week summer camp program offers children a place to make new friends, try new activities and grow as a person. We believe that camp has to be safe and it has to be fun. That's what Timber Lake West is all about. We take all the fun, spirit, excitement and tradition of a full season camp experience and power pack it into four weeks.

Our athletic program includes clinics, instruction, inter-camp tournaments, and plenty of games played just for fun. We create the right balance between competition and good sportsmanship, allowing every camper to be comfortable joining in, while also promoting teamwork and spirit. At Timber Lake West, winning is great but our goal is that every camper walks off the field or court with more friends and feeling better about him or herself.

HARDCORE ATHLETICS:
Hardcore Sports is designed to provide extra instruction and drills in various sports for those campers who elect to work with extra intensity on their skills. The work-out sessions are held during an elective or swim period for those campers yearning to improve their skills, practice for upcoming tournaments or play at a higher level of competition. These campers get a chance to work on their mechanics through drills, practicing game situations, improving their mental preparation, building self-esteem and getting into or staying in great physical shape.

Two periods each day are devoted to swimming and water sports. Our emphasis is on safety, instruction and fun. Our experienced Red Cross certified waterfront staff provides special attention to improving swim skills with the main emphasis, of course, on safety. Timber Lake West's two heated pools set us apart from others. Our Olympic size pool makes free swim a favorite activity while our completely private spring-fed lake, right in the heart of camp, provides the thrill of water-skiing and an extensive boating program, featuring instruction in canoeing, kayaking, row boating, surf bikes, paddle bikes, banana boating and water skiing.

Adventure at Timber Lake West comes alive when our campers challenge themselves to try activities they have never done before. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, scaling our 35 foot climbing wall or soaring down our zip line, camp is meant to be an adventure.

Our low ropes course gives campers the opportunity to work together toward a common goal while building friendships, self-esteem and self-confidence.

As part of our program each bunk meets with our trained and experienced staff on our low ropes/team building course and on overnight camp outs. As a cohesive unit, the campers work together to accomplish the goals that they set for themselves at the beginning of the four week session.

Each day campers select two activities from a wide variety of athletic, adventure oriented, and performing or creative arts electives. Combined with our scheduled sports and waterfront activities, the Elective periods allow campers to customize their summer program. Every Wednesday is uniquely programmed for our entire campus. After a well-deserved later wake-up and breakfast on our campus, campers head out to a special morning of electives. INCLUDING: Carnival, Battle of the Sexes, Olympics, Wacky Water Day, College Confrontation, Guiness Book of Records Day, Wild and Wacky Water Day, Big Sister-Little Sister, Big Brother-Little Brother, WWF Chocolate Pudding Wrestling, All-Star Athletic Clinics, Laser Tag, Professional Magic Show and Magic Clinics, and Girls' Day Out and Boys' Day Out

EVENING ACTIVITIES:
Each evening is filled with a fun activity. Whether it's a “Broadway” production in our theatre, a campfire, masquerade social, outdoor games, contests or a late-night league game on one of our lighted courts, evening activities are among the best times of the day at Timber Lake West. Before bedtime, campers stop with friends at our Planet West Canteen, complete with snacks, Pop-a-Shot, ping pong, pool tables and air hockey.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Teen programs are strong and we’re proud that we continue to attract returning older campers year after year. In spite of all of the other choices that high school-aged children have in today’s world, the large majority of our campers choose to return to Timber Lake West all the way through the end of their Teen summers.

The Timber Lake West Teen Program begins with diverse programming, more day trips out of camp, more choice and flexibility daily, a later wake-up (they ARE teenagers, after all), many community service opportunities and strong staff and supervision. Our Teens alternate between a two-day Whitewater Rafting trip or a two-day trip to Hershey/Dorney Parks.

Our Teens are also part of our apprenticeship program in camp, through which they choose a specialty area and an age group with which they think they might like to work. For several hours each week, they will be assigned to work with these groups so that they can get a feel for coming back as Junior Counselors.

We provide structure, supervision, feedback and training so that they are successful AND prepared to be part of our staff!

OTHER CAMP INFO: It's been said that “teaching kids to count isn't nearly as important as teaching them what counts.” Camp offers the perfect environment to teach children important life lessons that the traditional academic environment just isn't designed to handle.

Under the careful guidance of trained camp professionals, children can learn and practice social skills at a level not offered in school.

While parents are the primary source of values education and character building, the job had been getting harder and harder as affluent lifestyles blur the lines of what really is and is not important. Camp offers an opportunity to reinforce what children are already learning at home.

Moreover, in the recreational setting that includes competitive sports, performing arts, and day-to-day bunk living with nine or ten peers and college-age counselors, children have a unique opportunity to learn, practice and test their values skills.”

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers stay in secure, clean, modern corridor-style residence halls dedicated to summer campers. Males and females are housed in separate buildings. When not in class or practice, students have lots of fun participating in a variety of recreational activities including outdoor games like "Capture the Flag" and "Ultimate Frisbee," indoor games, movies, visits to a nearby lake for picnics and campfires, hikes, relaxing and socializing at the village Coffee House and each camp closes with a farewell party the last night of their camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each building is staffed by a Head Camp Counselor and 4 camp counselors who are are specially trained to serve as positive role models, mentors and friends. They provide out-of-classroom supervision throughout the week.

Our programs are staffed by distinguished members of the Alfred University faculty and advanced graduate students. Our sports camps are run by our head sports coaches who have all won distinguished awards in their sport. With Alfred University's excellence in teaching and coaching, along with their commitment to offering quality programming, these are among the most educational and fun summer programs in the country.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): At the end of our Equestrian camps there are shows put on for parents to enjoy the last day of camps. Check our website for specific information.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Cafeteria-style meals are served in the University's dining hall. Our Dining Service chefs do an excellent job in accommodating campers with food allergies and any other special requirements.

CAMP FACILITIES: Each of our cabins is equipped with complete bathrooms/ showers, electricity, porches and plenty of space. (No bunk beds!) Cabins are designed to hold between 5-8 campers with a minimum of 3 staff members living in each cabin so that we can maintain our 2:1 camper counselor ratio.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Located along a secluded nine-mile lake in the Adirondacks of New York State is a private/ independent seven-week residential camp for 130 children from across the United States and around the world. Camp Northwood is oriented toward children with low self-esteem, immature social skill development, high functioning autism, Asperger's Syndrome and learning challenges in need of a structured and supportive, socially therapeutic summer experience. Northwood's program, developed and supervised by an outstanding staff of special educators, focuses on the development of independence, social skills, self-image and the maintenance of academic skills.

Each Northwood camper participates in a fully non-competitive, socially oriented, main-streamed styled camp program. A camper/ counselor ratio of 2:1 provides a high level of individualization at activities and in the cabin setting insuring success. In addition to traditional camp activities, each child participates in an individually designed academic program intended to help maintain current skill levels throughout the summer season. Northwood campers are exposed to a variety of social experiences designed to foster age-appropriate social skill development. Group social skill sessions and constant reinforcement within the cabin setting cultivate growth in each camper's ability to work as part of a team, interpret social situations and feel a sense of inclusion in the camp community.
