BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: For talented high school singers from around the country together for an inspiring week of singing and performing. Singers develop the individual voice by focusing on arias and chorus pieces, with daily vocal coaching sessions and movement.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Theater, Musical Theater, Music/Band, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: Vocal Artist Program is held on the campus of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
CAMP FACILITIES: Campers are housed in the school's dorms with classes and activities taking place throughout campus.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Immerse yourself in opera! Vocal Artist Program brings talented high school singers from around the country together for an inspiring week of singing and performing. Singers develop the individual voice by focusing on arias and chorus pieces, with daily vocal coaching sessions and movement. Participants gain valuable experience working in a professional and nurturing environment preparing and performing incredible repertoire with other advanced musicians. Staff includes Minnesota Opera staff, Univ of MN Voice Faculty, and other local professional artists. The camp is led by Matt Abernathy, Minnesota Opera's Project Opera Music Director and Children's Chorus Master.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Needs-based scholarships are available.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
